Mechanic Technician – Gastonia, NC
Pay: $20.00–$24.00/hr. (Based on Experience) | Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) |Type: Temp-to-Hire Contract
About the Role:
Personnel Services Unlimited (PSU) is hiring a Mechanic Technician for a local manufacturing client in Gastonia, NC. This full-time, temp-to-hire position offers a great opportunity for a hands-on, mechanically inclined professional to work with automated production machinery in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties:
- Set up, maintain, and operate automatic industrial or brush-making machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, or minor electrical issues to keep equipment running efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, and quality checks to ensure product accuracy and consistency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders, and technical manuals to complete setups and adjustments.
- Collaborate with machine operators and production staff to maintain workflow, quality, and safety standards.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working with automated or mechanical production equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Team-oriented, detail-focused, and safety-minded.
